Spruce Kings d-man named BCHL’s top defenceman

PRINCE GEORGE — A big honour for Prince George Spruce Kings rearguard Ozbej Rep.

The 20-year-old Slovenian is the winner of the 2025-26 Top Defenceman Award. Rep led the league in points by a defenceman with 52 in 54 games. He also led all BCHL blueliners with 46 assists.

Rep put together 15 multi-point games during the season, including a back-to-back where he combined for six assists in a pair of wins over the Nanaimo Clippers in mid-October. His contributions with the man advantage were a big part of the Spruce Kings owning the second best power play in the BCHL in 2025-26 with a 30 per cent success rate.

He is the third Spruce Kings player to receive this award and the first since Dave Keough in 2000.
