PRINCE GEORGE — Two Prince George businesses have had their business licenses revoked for what the City claims were “unlawful activities.”

Both VIP Spa on 6 Avenue and Healing Touch Wellness on Brunswick St. had their licenses revoked earlier this month.

In a statement provided to CKPG News, the City said it was determined that the two businesses had been “misrepresenting their operations, engaged in unlawful activities, and were operating outside of approved hours at their business premises, contrary to the terms and conditions of their business licenses and in contravention of the Business Regulation and Licensing Bylaw.”

The City added that subsequent inspections by Prince George Fire Rescue “noted deficiencies which resulted in a do not occupy notice being issued for one of the locations due to fire safety concerns.”

The City noted that “concerns unrelated to municipal bylaws have been referred to the RCMP for their consideration.”

CKPG News reached out to the Prince George RCMP regarding this matter and was told the RCMP won’t be taking any action. RCMP provided us the following statement:

“Prince George RCMP supported City bylaw officers during visits to the businesses in question to ensure any potential criminal offences could be addressed. No such offences were identified by police, and as a result, RCMP involvement in the matter has concluded.”
