Refashion without Rules gives new life to old clothes
PRINCE GEORGE- A new campaign has rolled out in the Lower Mainland asking residents to ‘think thrice’ about throwing away old clothes as Metro Vancouver threw away 44 million pounds of clothing in 2018. That’s a growing problem around the globe and an event in Prince George is providing a solution, hoping to give old clothes new life. Refashion without Rules takes place tomorrow night at 7 at the public library. It’s a free event for all skill levels where you’ll learn to repurpose second-hand or old clothing items. “Even if you’ve never picked up a needle, have never sewn on a button, don’t feel like that’s any reason not to show up,” said organizer, Larissa Clotildes, who also runs a blog by the same name as the event. “This will give people some ideas of what sorts of projects are out there waiting to be done that you might not see right away when you find the clothes at a second-hand store.”
