Goalie commits to Spruce Kings
PRINCE GEORGE — A goalie has committed to the Prince George Spruce Kings for next season.
The Spruce Kings say it’s 2009-born goaltender Asher Netherton, who is 6′ 1, 190 pounds and from Kelowna.
He’s played the last three seasons with RINK Hockey Academy where he went 13-1 last season with a 1.86 GAA and a .937 SV% for the U18 Prep team. He won an additional three games in the playoffs, including the CSSHL U18 Prep Championship game. He will join RINK teammates Max Reed and Rhett Tubello on the Spruce Kings.
“Asher is a young goalie who really impressed our staff with his maturity on and off the ice,” says General Manager Mike Hawes. “He did very well in his past three seasons at a very good program at RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna. We look forward to working with him on the next stage of his development.”
