Traffic congestion could become an issue on O’Grady Road
PRINCE GEORGE – Two new condo developments could have a significant impact on traffic in college heights. The multi-story apartment buildings will contain more than 100 units and more cars will mean more congestion in the area.
The two new buildings located just off O’Grady road and behind save on foods will contain 167 units. The development, being built by Broadstreet Properties Limited was proposed to City Council in 2017 and after several meetings and a traffic impact assessment, a 5-4 vote decided by the mayor approved the project allowing it to go ahead.
Traffic up the hill towards Southridge Avenue could get busier as well. The traffic impact assessment conducted by the developer said that traffic in the area will only increase by 1.5 per cent per year for the next 25 years.
