Kamloops defender commits to UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer program

Ramunno has been playing soccer since she was five years old and has become known for her calm presence on the field. During her most recent season, she contributed a goal and an assist while helping anchor her team’s defensive efforts. Off the pitch, she has also excelled in the classroom, earning honour roll recognition five times.

For Ramunno, soccer has always been more than just a sport.

“I love soccer because it’s always been a big part of my life and where I feel most like myself,” she said. “I love the competitiveness and the constant challenge to get better, but also the friendships and memories that come with being on a team.”

Her decision to attend UNBC was influenced by the sense of community she experienced during visits to Prince George.

“What impressed me most during my visit was how welcoming everyone was,” Ramunno said. “It really felt like a tight-knit community where people genuinely support each other. Being on campus made it easy to picture myself there as both a student and an athlete.”

Ramunno also pointed to Sedgwick and the current Timberwolves roster as key factors in her commitment.

“Neil really stood out to me because of how passionate he is about the program and his players,” she said. “You can tell he really cares about helping his athletes grow both on and off the field. My future teammates were also super welcoming and competitive, and it already felt like a great group to be a part of.”

Ramunno is the latest addition to UNBC’s growing 2026 recruiting class. The group is expected to begin training together in Prince George in the coming weeks as the Timberwolves continue building for the future.

The program says it is excited to welcome Ramunno and her family to the UNBC community.
