Organizers describe Alex as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who was deeply involved in her children’s activities, particularly hockey. Known to many as “the hockey mom,” she spent countless hours driving to practices and games, organizing events and cheering on young athletes.

“She was the kind of person who was behind the scenes of almost every team and activity her kids were part of,” organizers wrote on the fundraiser page. “She made the drive. She organized. She cheered. She made things happen.”

Friends say Alex was known for supporting others and making people feel welcome. They describe her as someone who always showed up when needed and who often became like family to those around her.

The fundraiser was created to provide financial assistance and practical support for Jordan, Josie and Jackson as they face an uncertain future. Funds raised will go directly to the family and can be used for immediate expenses as well as longer-term needs.

Meanwhile, the Transportation Safety Board has assumed responsibility for investigating the crash. Prince George RCMP have asked the public to stay away from the area while investigators continue their work.

BC Emergency Health Services said paramedics assessed 10 patients at the scene. Two people were taken to hospital in stable condition, while the extent of injuries to other occupants of the vehicles and those aboard the aircraft has not been publicly released.

Organizers say the overwhelming response from the community reflects the impact Alex had on those around her and the desire of many residents to support the family she leaves behind.
