Man charged in 2025 hit-and-run in Surrey, B.C., that killed girl, 6
SURREY — A 38-year-old man from Surrey, B.C., has been charged in a hit-and-run in the city that left a six-year-old girl dead.
Surrey police say prosecutors approved several charges, including dangerous driving, impaired driving and failing to stop after an accident causing death against Baldeep Chahal.
The girl was one of three children hit by the vehicle in April last year at the intersection of 164 Street and 108 Avenue.
Police say a seven-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were hurt but survived, while the six-year-old victim died despite life-saving intervention.
