Prince George RCMP investigate assault

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP are investigating an assault that sent one person to hospital Sunday afternoon.

Police say the incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. October 4 in the 200-block of George Street, where a fight involving several people broke out.

According to police, one man was assaulted with a weapon and was also physically assaulted by people involved in the fight. He was taken to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services for treatment of his injuries.

Police say investigators located one of the suspects, a 22-year-old woman, a short distance from the scene. Several other suspects remain outstanding.

“Investigators were able to locate one of the suspects, a 22-year-old woman, a short distance away; however, several suspects remain outstanding,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, RCMP spokesperson for Northern B.C.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.
