Free transit offered in Prince George for municipal election day
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George residents will be able to ride public transit for free on municipal election day later this month.
BC Transit and its local government partners have announced that free transit service will be available in Prince George on Saturday, October 17th, to help residents get to the polls. The initiative is being offered in dozens of B.C. communities as voters elect mayors, councillors, school trustees and regional district directors.
The free service includes both conventional transit and handyDART. BC Transit says the program is intended to make voting more accessible and remove transportation barriers for residents.
Advance voting opportunities are also available ahead of general voting day. For transit schedules and trip planning information, residents can visit BC Transit online.
