Prince George begins winter shutdown of outdoor recreation facilities
PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George is beginning its seasonal shutdown of outdoor recreational facilities as cooler temperatures arrive.
As of October 9, all drinking fountains and the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Spray Park have been turned off and winterized to prevent freezing.
More facilities will close October 30, including Masich Place Stadium, the beach volleyball facility, Carrie Jane Grey Park, Connaught Hill Park and all sports fields. Washrooms and outhouses at several city parks will also close for the season.
Following the first significant snowfall, the Jumpstart Multisport Courts and Nechako Riverside Park and its outhouses will close.
