Pink Shirt Day plans for Duchess Park students
PRINCE GEORGE — Pink Shirt Day has been going on for over a decade. In that time, the movement has spread throughout not only Canada but around the world, with almost 180 countries participating last year.
For the Duchess Park Leadership Class, it means being kind to everyone.
“Never judge a person by what they look like,” said Lead Organizer Aspen Vassallo. “It’s really what’s inside of them that matters because everyone is going through their own different things. Their parents could be splitting up or other things going on at home, mental health issues, homework, everyone is going through different things and you can’t really tell what’s happening inside them.”
They’ll be at the Prince George Cougars game Wednesday to spread awareness about Pink Shirt Day and raise money for the Elizabeth Fry Society.
