First Nations Business Forum aims to advance First Nations economies
PRINCE GEORGE – Indigenous business leaders gathered to develop effective business strategies for people in various bands at the First Nations Business forum.
The forum is a multi-day event that features different speakers. One of the main points of the forum was that Indigenous people are taking a more active role in their communities economics in an effort to provide more funding for the people of their nations.
Local leaders were on hand to gain more knowledge on how they can enhance economic conditions for their residents through new or pre-existing employment and job creation opportunities. An important part was improving relationships with a variety of sectors. Leaders felt that improving their local nation’s involvement in private sector industry could lead to new economic opportunities in others, such as tourism.
