Slippery Sidewalks A Major Concern For People With Mobility Issues

PRINCE GEORGE – Winter can bring several challenges for people. Travel becomes a particularly difficult prospect thanks to ice and snow on roads and sidewalks. For people with mobility issues though, that prospect becomes an even more daunting one.

Residents that use mobility scooters often times struggle so much getting over large buildups of ice on sidewalks that they will often times use the roadway to go about their daily business. 

Florence Schultz uses her mobility scooter to run daily errands and has been raising concerns about sidewalk conditions for years.

Schultz believes that ramped crosswalks are a good start but more needs to be done.
