Catchment Changes Pending For District 57

PRINCE GEORGE – The Board of Education has approved a pair of significant recommendations around catchments. First, starting in the 2019-2020 school year, the following schools will be restricted to catchment area students only.

Catchment Restrictions:

  • Southridge Elementary
  • College Heights Secondary
  • Heritage Elementary
  • Edgewood Elementary
  • Harwin Elementary
  • Ron Brent Elementary
  • Duchess Park Secondary (Regular Program Only)
  • Glenview Elementary
  • Hart Highlands Elementary
  • Springwood Elementary

Also, for the 2019-2020 school years, Kindergarten enrolment will be restricted at the following schools:

  • College Heights Elementary, French Immersion – no more than 40 students
  • Spruceland Elementary – no more than 40 students
  • Polaris Montessori – no more than 40 students
  • Ecole Lac des Bois – no more than 60 students

The Board has also approved Administration to set the wheels in motion on a series of consultations with the wide community on other means to address enrolment issues in the long-term, including three capital projects:

Capital Projects:

  • College Heights Secondary – expansion
  • DP Todd Secondary – 300 seat expansion
  • Blackburn – new school
