PRINCE GEORGE — Once again, Prince George is ahead of the rest. Members of the Fire Department, the military, BC Ambulance Service and Corrections were on hand for the launch of Honour Cabin. It will be built in Prince George and ultimately shipped to Kamloops for the new Honour Ranch. That ranch will be a refuge for First Responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.

“Not one program fits. It’s very much like going to a psychologist, you have that connection,” explains Allan De Genova, President of the Honour House Society. “I feel with the ranch and how it’s been derived and built by First Responders, by Canadian Forces personnel, who really get it and understand it.”

The ranch will allow not just the individual in question, but their families as well.

Prince George is the first out of the gate to step up and build the first of what is hoped to be 10 such cabins.
