WILLIAMS LAKE – The Cariboo Regional District’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has been activated to respond to flooding issues in the region.

Several areas in the Cariboo are currently experiencing high stream flows and flooding.

If you need any assistance regarding flooding issues, contact the CRD at 1-866-759-4977 during business hours and after hours, contact the Provincial Emergency Reporting Line at 1-800-663-3456.

You can visit the CRD website or the CRD Emergency Operations Facebook page as more information becomes available.

Anyone living near a river or stream should take precautions that include preparing emergency supply kits for your home, car and work, have a grab-and-go kit, store important documents in watertight containers including a record of your valuables, watch for an increase and intensity of water flows, mudslides, debris in creeks, colour changes in water or leaning trees, remember that river banks may be unstable, keep away from fast flowing water, teach your children about flood safety and make arrangements for any pets or livestock.
