PRINCE GEORGE – Elementary student, Ayla, is raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of her twin sister Arwen. Arwen was just three years old when she lost her battle with an incurable form of brain cancer. “The one she had is called DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas), it’s at the base of your brain stem, there’s no cure… we’d like to change that,” said mom, Ashley Saunders. “We have a lot of cancer in our family, my grandma, my mom, my brother, my sister, and my daughter, we lost Arwen three and a half years ago.”

This year, Ayla will donate her hair at Relay for Life. She’s never had a real haircut before and she’s excited for it to be made into a wig for a child with cancer. “It’s basically helping them and I love helping,” said Ayla, “I want it to be close to my shoulders when it’s cut.”

Relay for Life is one of the Canadian Cancer Society’s biggest fundraisers, to donate visit the Little Dillers team page with the message ‘for Ayla’s hair’.
