PRINCE GEORGE- Another day of near record-breaking heat in Prince George has helped out a handful of cool local businesses. From restaurants, especially those with shady patios, to ice cream shops, and lawn maintenance, many are seeing a boom in business thanks to the thirty-degree weather. “The past couple of days have been super hot, it’s nice to come and enjoy a drink on the patio, we seat 130 people and it’s been super busy here,” said Canadian Brewhouse employee, Tanner Moulton. It’s also good news for summer students, as the warm summer months prompt residents to use the pools, it means more employees are needed to keep up with the rush. “It is busier in the summer we have a lot of swimming lessons so we have more staff for that but also with the kids out of school it’s very busy,” said City Aquatics Manager, Jim Worthington, “we just did a hire of 10 employees, we hire them in April and that gives us a few months to get them ready for the summer.” The first official day of Summer is June 21, but the warm weather has kick-started the season, in turn helping to heat up our local economy.
