Rider Picks Local Ranch To Train For Toughest Race

Prince George – For many of us, we watch horse racing on an oval track. The world’s longest and toughest horse race occurs in Mongolia on its vast open spaces. The Mongol Derby is a 1000km course that takes riders across the country in ten days, with riders changing horse every 36km. The B.C. Appaloosa Centre horse ranch has is the training ground for Kelsey Opstad who will be entering the race in August.
