Evacuees Returning Home

Aug 31, 2018 | 3:47 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – The number of evacuees from the wildfires has dropped significantly. The Emergency Operations Centre was established at the CN Centre in mid-August to handle those evacuated from the wildfire lines. At its peak, there were just over three thousand accessing services from that location. The City says the number of evacuees has dropped by about two thirds and, as such, the ERC closed at 4:30 today and will remain closed over the long weekend. Starting next Tuesday, the ERC will be located in the Kin Lounge and will be open from 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday and Friday.

There is still updated information on the City’s wildfire evacuation webpage.
