Strimbold Scheduled To Appear In Court Today

SMITHERS – A former BC mayor was scheduled to appear in a Smithers courtroom Monday to face nearly 30 sex-related charges, some of them involving minors.

Luke Strimbold faces 29 charges, ranging from sexual assault to sexual touching. six of them involve people who were all under the age of 16 at the time of the allegations. a special prosecutor was appointed to Strimbold’s case in March because he is a former mayor of Burns Lake, and was the membership chair of the BC Liberals until the allegations were made public.
