PRINCE GEORGE — Tuesday's natural gas pipeline explosion near Prince George is having an effect in the city.

Forestry giant Canfor has confirmed the explosion has closed both Northwood and Prince George Pulp Mills.

Communications spokesperson Michelle Ward says Intercontinental Pulp Mill and Prince George Sawmill are continuing to operate.

She adds that all Canfor employees are continuing to work at shutdown mills performing maintenance and other activities.

No word on how long the closures will remain in effect.
