Women Hoopers Receive League-Wide Recognition

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team has gotten off to quite the start this season, and people have began to take notice. Players have been recognized multiple times now by the CanWest for their individual performances. The most recent being Maria Mongomo. The Spanish shooter, who’s in her fourth season with the Timberwolves, received the CanWest’s 1 Star treatment today as the Player of the Week. Mongomo averaged 23 points, 10 rebounds, over 3 assists, and 3 steals in this weekend’s meetings with Trinity. Vasiliki Louka also has been honoured with the Stat Line of the Week after posting 14 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, blocking 2 shots, and picking up 5 assists in the one-point T-Wolves win on Friday.
