Local Businesses See Success Over Holidays

PRINCE GEORGE- We are back into our regular routines after the holiday season and that’s giving business owners a time to reflect on their busiest season. The Chamber of Commerce says there aren’t any concrete numbers yet, but it seems our local businesses benefitted greatly from the season. CEO Todd Corrigall says that may have been due to the Canada Post rotating strikes and the current relationship between Canada and the US. He says people may have been more inclined to support local than ordering online. There has also been a push lately by several organizations to support local businesses and that is helping to increase traffic to those smaller stores. Corrigall says it’s important to continue that trend as it puts money back into our local economy.
