The Timberwolves men's basketball team came into the weekend needing a win in one of the two game this weekend to clinch a Canada West playoff berth. They wasted no time in getting the win as they beat the Lethbridge Pronghorns 96-90 last night to clinch the playoff berth.

Jovan Leamy had a statline to remember for the T-wolves with 16 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and three blocks. The Pronghorns were led by Zac Overwater who had a game high 35 points and added 13 rebounds.

Over on the women's side UNBC already had a playoff spot locked up but were looking to get better playoff positioning. It was a close game throughout the first half but a tough third quarter for UNBC is where the Pronghorns took over. The Timberwolves were outscored 26-8 in the third quarter and could not recover as they lost 77-71.

Madison Landry and Maria Mongomo each had 21 points for UNBC while Asnate Fomina led Lethbridge with 21 points.

Both teams are back at it again tonight as the regular season winds down.
