SNC Lavalin affair having minimal effect on Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE – The recent ejection of Jody Wilson-Raybould from the liberal caucus in relation to the SNC-Lavalin affair has sent ripples through the Liberal party. While the recent events have caught the public eye, some say the reaction may be overblown.

Tuesday saw the ejection of Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott from the Liberal caucus.

Tracy Calogheros was the Liberal Candidate for Caribou Prince George in 2015 and feels that while the SNC Lavalin affair may have soured some people on the Liberals, voters in the Prince George region may want to focus more on the local candidates.

While Calogheros hasn’t yet announced decided whether or not she will run in the next election, SNC Lavalin won’t change her approach.

With the expulsion of Jody Wilson-Raybould comes more questions about what actually goes on behind the closed doors of parliament. However, political scandals can be shorted lived and any new issue could upset or annoy Canadians enough to forget about SNC Lavalin.
