Bus service to lower mainland receives final approval

PRINCE GEORGE— Adventure Charters received final approval from the Passenger Transportation Board yesterday (April 15). The Board had to approve rates and routes put in place by the company.

Operations Manager of Adventure Charters Randy Gertzen says after receiving final approval, they’re now just waiting for their licenses and permits before operations start on May 2.

The new route is anticipated to be quite popular. There hasn’t been a bus service travelling from Prince George to the Lower Mainland since Greyhound ended their services in October 2018. The first two months of operations will be a trial period for the new bus routes.

“It will be a learning curve for us to get the times correct,” Gertzen says, “There’s obviously going to be some fine-tuning going on once we get started, but I think we are pretty close to a final product. It’s going to be an on-going process for the first month or two.”
