Reiser’s last week

PRINCE GEORGE – The President of the College of New Caledonia will serve his last day on Friday, retiring from the job. Henry Reiser says he can point to a number of legacies.
“We received about $45 million in capital to upgrade our campuses,” he says. “We have built a new heavy-duty mechanic. The Aboriginal housing is coming out of the ground. So from a capital side, it’s been quite successful.”
But he says the intangibles include four successive surplus budgets, despite all odds, as well as increased enrolments and expanded programs.
During a special meeting yesterday, an interim president, Tara Szerencsi, was appointed until Reiser’s successor, Dennis Johnson, takes over on October 1st.
