PRINCE GEORGE – A hummer burst into flames late Wednesday afternoon in the University Hospital of Northern B.C’s parking lot.

“When our truck arrived we found an SUV with the engine compartment fully engulfed, the fire was put out in 20 minutes,” said Prince George Fire Rescue Chief John Iverson.

The cause of the fire is unknown however foul play has been ruled out.

“Typically when there is a fire in a vehicle there is so much damage to the engine compartment that it makes it almost impossible for us to dig in and find out exactly what caused it – unless there is a witness statement that can support a potential cause of that fire,” added Iverson.

According to the Prince George Fire Rescue, the car was parked at the time of the fire however they are not aware of the owner’s whereabouts. There were damages to other cars in the row but no one was injured.
