PRINCE GEORGE – Hotel and food service workers are protesting outside the Ramada Hotel this evening. Staff at the hotel want better wages and various other improvements. They say they are earning less than other unionized hotel workers in Prince George. Ramada sous chef Stacey Moen says she wants management to address a lack of staffing.

Management at the Ramada issued this statement: “The Ramada Plaza Prince George encourages employees to engage with their union and representatives. This ensures that the majority’s sentiments are truly being represented throughout the negotiation process. Events such as these are a staple of union engagement. As such, we fully support their participation and have taken steps to accommodate the event to the best of our ability with respect to the safety and comfort of our guests and employees,” Carla Johnston, spokesperson for Ramada Management.

Protestors began their march just after 4:30 PM outside the hotel.
