Cougars Can’t Claw Back

VANCOUVER – The Prince George Cougars saw their two-game win streak come to a close Saturday night after a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Giants.

Despite the Cougars starting off the game strong with a goal from Connor Bowie in the first, it didn’t end well. Bowie’s goal was his first of the season for the Cougars and the only goal of the first period.

During the second, Vancouver fought back. The Giants Tyler Ho and Cyle McNabb each put one in the back of the Cougars net ending the first 40-minutes 2-1.

In the third, the Cougars were outscoring the Giants 17-5 but that didn’t seem to matter as the third ended scorelessly.

Prince George will face Vancouver for game two Saturday afternoon at 2 pm before heading home.

In November, the Prince George Cougars Alumni Society is donating $30 for every Cougars goal to the University of Lethbridge ‘s Brock Hirsche Memorial Hockey Award. So far, through three games, $210 dollars has been donated to the scholarship in memory of the former Cougars’ Captain.
