Welsh’s Hat Trick vaults Spruce Kings past Chiefs

The Prince George Spruce Kings got a major boost to their line-up Friday night with the return of Captain Nolan Welsh and it made a difference.

Welsh found the back of the net three times to help lift the Kings to a 3-2 win in overtime against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Jett Alexander was superb for Prince George in the win.

The 20-year-old netminder made 35 saves to help improve Prince George’s record to 5-6-2-1 on the season.

They will look to close out their four-game homestand on a winning note Saturday as they collide with the Chiefs for the 3rd time this season.
