Cougars

Cats clinging to their playoff lives

With two weeks to go in the regular season, the Prince George Cougars still could make the 2020 WHL playoffs.

With six games to go the club sits with a total of 48 points, 7 back of the Seattle Thunderbirds for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Cougars can finish the campaign with a maximum of 60 points if they win every game remaining on their schedule.

Meanwhile, at 55 points, Seattle just needs to win 3 of their last 5 to clinch the final playoff spot.

Right now the T-Birds magic number sits at 3. That number can be reduced either with a T-Birds win or a Cougars loss.

Once that number hits zero, the Thunderbirds have clinched the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Both Seattle and Prince George are on the ice Friday night with both teams playing on the road. The Cats are in Victoria and the T-Birds are in Langley to battle the Vancouver Giants.
