Hassman headed to Weyburn

1,636 km. That’s how far graduating Cariboo Cougars forward Jackson Hassman will travel to his next stop in his hockey career.

The major midget Cats forward will be joining the Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2020-2021 season.

“It was around Macs. Rich, their Head Coach there contacted us through Sprague (Trevor) and they got word they were coming to Macs to watch me and a couple other kids from the team. Then got the offer to sign there for next season and took it,” shared Hassman.

He added that he has never been to the small Saskatchewan community, but he does have family an hour away in Regina which he says will help with the transition of moving two provinces away from home.
