PINCE GEORGE – The College of New Caledonia is “upping its game.”

That’s how President Dennis Johnson is describing its plans to seek public input on it future for the next fifty years.

CNC – The Next 50 seeks viewpoints and potential opportunities, focusing first on the years 2021 to 2026. A survey is open at cnc.bc.ca/cncnext50, with print copies available on request.

“Through CNC’s 50th anniversary, we heard many stories about CNC’s significant impact on people and community and how the college has helped generations achieve a brighter future,” said CNC Board Chair Gil Malfair. “This strategic planning process is a unique opportunity for all members of the CNC community to provide their vision for CNC over the next 50 years.”

But it’s not going to happen overnight.

“The initial round of consultations will lead to a draft plan and that will go out again for a second round of consultation,” explains Dennis Johnson, President of the College of New Caledonia. “So that people will have a chance to weigh in and say ‘Does this sound right? Did we miss something?’ Make sure it resonates with the community that we serve.”

After those rounds of consultations, the Board will approve the plan. The official launch will likely be somewhere in the spring of 2021.

The survey is available on CNC’s website now.
