PRINCE GEORGE – The first of it’s kind large mural on the side of the BX Pub has already been defaced, less than a month after it was installed.

In a Facebook post late Thursday night the pub says they are speechless and disappointed, but already have plans for the future of the mural.

“Yes, we are heartbroken…… but please refrain from making harmful comments toward the person that did this. We have two cameras on the art and PM’s from the public suggesting who may be responsible. We know it’s exceptionally upsetting! And with that being said there has already been numerous comments, ideas and offers to assist with what to do next.” – BX Pub

Neighbours passing by the vandalized mural say they are heartbroken and allege it’s yet another sign of the once safe neighbourhood “going downhill.”

The BX Pub has since posted another statement via Facebook:

Someone thought they could destroy this beautiful piece of art our community loved! Well guess what……. you…

The mural was installed in early October, done by local artist Fresco who told CKPG News, he doesn’t know if the mural can even be saved.

CKPG News was there days after the mural was installed and spoke to Fresco who called it one of his favourite pieces to complete.

CKPG News is still awaiting further comment from the BX Pub
