PRINCE GEORGE – Crews are busy at the Kin Centre getting ready for the 43rd Canadian Homebuilders Association Home Show.

“The home show is back. It’s back, baby,” exclaims Terri McConnachie with the Canadian Homebuilders Association, Northern BC. “This weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday in the King Center’s at Exhibition Park following three cancellations due to the before times. And we’re not going to go there. We’re going to move forward. And yeah, the 43rd home shows are springing up off the pavement this weekend and we welcome the entire city, Prince George, to join us.”

Al Jones with Rona is a perennial participant in the Home Show.

“It’s partially, you know, community involvement, but it’s being being part of creme life back after COVID” says Al Jones. “Everybody’s pent up. Nobody has done anything. And these community events, it’s just important to be a contributing partner in it. ”

Rona is in the business of building and, after a three-year hiatus, there is a theme to this year’s event.

“Obviously energy is a hot-button topic and there’s been great strides in it. But I think this year with the economic downturn, it’s people are reinvesting in their homes and remodelling and cleaning up their backyards to get it where they want it to be.”

“We’ll have all the experts coffee will be on and you can talk to folks about how to design that kitchen, design that bathroom,” says McConnachie. “What is what are the cool paint colours that are in style? Did you know that coloured appliances are back again? I knew if I just waited long enough, it would come back around. Yeah. So all kinds of things. Free Pancake breakfast Sunday morning.”

Get whatever advice on the various incentives from renovating your kitchen or bathroom, to upgrades to make your home more energy efficient.
