Enbridge donates $25,000 ahead of the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games
CARIBOO—It is just over a month before the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 B.C. Winter Games kick off on February 22 with as many as 1,700 athletes, coaches and officials expected to participate.
Ahead of the games, Enbridge, an energy transportation company which operates a pipeline system that is positioned near Quesnel, donated $25,000 to help ensure a smoother and higher-quality sport event. The cheque was presented to the Lhatko Quesnel 2024 B.C. Winter Games at the new Lhtako Dene longhouse located on their territory. The company’s donation was made through it’s Fueling Futures program, which invests in communities and youth through financial donation and volunteer work.
“For us, this is more than just a sporting event. All the participants gathering here in Quesnel will take home not only medals and memories of their competitions, but the stories and knowledge about our traditions and our people.”
Tim Mitchell, Lhtako Dene Nation Councilor
