Chamber EHT survey released
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has released the results of a survey conducted of its members on the impacts of the new Employer Health Tax, which kicked in January 1st.
Seventy percent of the respondents said the EHT has and will impact their businesses, 36% said they will need to cut staff to make ends meet and 62% will have to pass on the additional costs to their customers.
The reciprocal damage of that to an economy can be catastrophic,” says Todd Corrigall, CEO of the Chamber. “That’s fewer people going out for dinner, fewer people going bowling or golfing or doing general things and and around the community. Those impacts are wide ranging.”
