PRINCE GEORGE–RCMP say that over the last week they have responded to four confirmed residential break-ins in which thieves entered through an open or unlocked window.

On the first incident on Friday, June 7 access into a home was gained through a second floor window of a residence on the 2900 block of 20th Ave. Jewelry was taken from the home.

Locations of the four break and enters within the past week.

The most recent break in was on Tuesday, June 11, where thieves entered a residence on the 1800 block of Tamarack Street through an unlocked window. A laptop, DVD Player, 32″ TV and frozen food were taken.

With the weather getting warmer RCMP say people may be tempted to leave their windows and doors open or unlocked, but are reminding the community to lock doors and windows before leaving their homes as well as installing alarm systems in their homes.

Police say if you find yourself a victim of a break and enter to not touch anything and call police right away.
