PRINCE GEORGE– After a press release released Tuesday (July 16) morning by the Prince George RCMP saying that there has been a spike in Ford truck vehicle thefts, two arrests were made after a foot chase.

Police were notified of a stolen Ford F-250 truck from a residence on Nation Crescent, which was later seen by a frontline officer near 5th Ave and Highway 97. The truck was lost by officers as they turned to follow it.

A few minutes later the RCMP received multiple reports of dangerous driving near the Simon Fraser Bridge, where witnesses said they saw a Ford F-series truck crash into a driver and not stop. The driver of the Ford continued driving and collided with another truck near the entrance of the BCR site where the driver and passenger hopped out and fled in different directions.

RCMP chased the suspects and arrested two males – a 31-year-old and an 18-year-old. The vehicle was confirmed to match the one that had been reported missing earlier in the morning.
