Reflectors for pedestrians in light of less daylight and weather changes
PRINCE GEORGE–Reflectors in order to be seen in the dark, that is what is being handed out to pedestrians on Monday, Oct.21st.
ICBC, RCMP, CNC and community policing volunteers will be giving out free safety reflectors and tip cards in an attempt to bring awareness to the time of year that usually sees a spike in crashes with pedestrians. The reflectors will be handed out at the Pine Centre Mall bus loop, and College of New Caledonia front entrance.
ICBC is urging caution to those who walk, and those behind the wheel as we head into winter when the sun rises late and sets early; this as part of the pedestrian wide campaign.
Almost double the number of pedestrians are injured in crashes from October to January as the weather changes and daylight hours decrease.
