Eric Brewer to be inducted into BC Hockey Hall of Fame

PRINCE GEORGE–Eric Brewer is one of six inductees going into the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame’s class of 2020. The longtime NHLer ,and part owner of the Prince George Cougars, played three seasons for the Cats ,from 1995-1998. Brewer compiled 79 points in 168 career regular season games in the WHL. The blueliner was drafted by the New York Islanders fifth overall in the 1997 NHL Draft. Throughout the course of his career he also played with the Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. Brewer also had a decorated international career, as he played for Canada at the 1998 World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey, and five World Hockey Championships. He won an Olympic gold medal, three World Hockey Championships and the World Cup of Hockey. Joining Brewer in the BCHHOF 2020 class is former Canucks defenceman Mattias Ohlund, NHL Linesman Jay Sharrers, and Junior ‘B’ hockey president Ray Stonehouse. Two teams are being inducted as well, the 2002 Kootenay ICE Memorial Cup champions and the 2012 Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League. The 2020 BCHHOF Induction ceremony is Friday, July 24th at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, B.C.
