Fire forces apartment complex evacuation on Queensway

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire this afternoon at an apartment complex on the 1400 block of Queensway Avenue.

Assistant Chief Woodhouse says crews from four fire halls responded just after 1 p.m.

He says they arrived to find dark black smoke coming from the entrance of the parking area under the apartment complex.

Woodhouse says a quick attack was initiated and says the fire was confined to a single vehicle in the underground parking area. The apartment complex was evacuated until all residual smoke could be removed from the building.
