OTTAWA–Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau is being tested for COVID-19 and the couple is self-isolating at home pending the results.

Gregoire Trudeau began exhibiting mild flu-like symptoms including a low fever late last night after returning from a speaking engagement in the U-K.
Trudeau worked from home this morning and has now cancelled the First Ministers meeting.

While they won’t meet in-person, both Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will speak with the premiers and territorial leaders on the phone to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh sent out a tweet earlier this morning saying that he is “feeling unwell” and is staying home. Also mentioning that he has visited a doctor who doesn’t believe he has symptoms “consistent with COVID-19” but has been advised to limit his contact with the public.
