50-year-old man in custody after firearms incident

PRINCE GEORGE—A man is in custody after Prince George RCMP responded to an incident involving a firearm.

Just before 8 a.m. yesterday (June 16) RCMP received a report involving a firearm in the Salmon Valley area. Police responded to the call along with the Police Dog Service team and called for assistance from the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team and Air Services Section.

The investigation led police to arrest a 50-year-old male resident of the area.

According to police the incident involved two men, known to each other. No shots were believed to have been fired. The male remains in custody, charges have yet to be laid and police say the investigation is on-going.
