PRINCE GEORGE — Fire investigators continue to comb the scene a fatal fire in downtown Prince George that claimed three lives yesterday (July 8).

Police say specially trained fire investigators with the RCMP will be at the scene of the fire for a number of days gathering evidence.

“The Prince George RCMP is hoping to speak with anyone that may have video or still images within a two block radius of the motel between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday July 8,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“Those that can assist are asked to contact the Detachment at 250-561-3300. Dashcam video while driving by, cell phone images or security surveillance images, would be greatly appreciated.”

Douglass adds that “the BC Coroners Service is conducting a parallel investigation to determine who died, and how, where and by what means they came to their unexpected deaths. Due to the privacy of the deceased, identity will not be provided.”

He says further details of the investigation may be released as they become available.

The blaze broke out just before 9 a.m. yesterday. The bodies of three deceased individuals were discovered by fire personnel at approximately 12:30 p.m.
