PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Hospice Society opened its second thrift store this morning.

Worth Repeating 2 is located downtown on Third Avenue and takes over the space previously run by Sonar Comedy Club.

The Society asks those wanting to make donations to do so at their other location on McGill Street in College Heights.

“So, just due to the overwhelming amount of donations that Hospice is given, we have decided to open a second store,” says Resell and Marketing Manager Amanda Holmes.

“Just to get those items out into the community, back into the community, so we can raise more money for Hospice House here in Prince George.”

And with revenues down over 40 per cent during the COVID-19 pandemic, she says the society is hoping to raise enough money to keep its programming intact.

“We’ve opened the two stores to raise money for two beds at the Rotary Hospice House here in Prince George. The total amount of that is approximately $400,000 annually to keep two beds operational here.”

Holmes says they’re also on the lookout for volunteers. If you have time to spare for this cause, you’re asked to call 250-563-2551.
