Chief Lake Rd update

Chief Lake Road is safe to travel – YRB

PRINCE GEORGE — YRB Fort George says Chief Lake Road is once again safe to travel.

This after seal coating laid by work crews earlier this week stuck to the tires of dozens of vehicles yesterday (July 16).

“We are continuously monitoring the road surface, ” says YRB on Facebook. “One lane has been sanded and will be used as a single lane alternating traffic lane if things do deteriorate again.”

YRB asks motorists to obey posted signs and traffic control on site, as they say they are doing the best they can considering the situation.

YRB says the road is scheduled to be cleaned and repaired tomorrow morning. Traffic control will be on site during and following the repairs.

YRB confirms around six kilometres of sealant failed and says they are working with the contractor to determine what happened.

If you need to reach YRB call 1-800-218-8805 though they are not returning calls at this time due to call volumes. They ask you to leave your name and number and say they will return your call as soon as possible.
